Some days

Some days I am thrilled to see Andrew’s friends growing up
getting married,
having babies,
getting jobs.

These things make my heart sing!

I am glad they have healed and are moving on with their lives.

Other times these things bring me sadness

Reminders that he is gone.

I am not jealous or angry that he is not doing those things.

Those things were not in The Plan for Andrew.

Early admission to heaven was The Plan.

But once, just once, I would like to see his smiling face in the pictures at their wedding,
their opening night
their graduation
their baby dedication
their new apartment.

Just once.

Or maybe twice.

Grief, life, poetry

I write about my life, my journey, my family, and my faith. I am wife to one, mom to seven with one in heaven, and grandmother to many. I am also full-time caregiver to my stepmom E who suffers from dementia due to Alzheimer’s. In my spare time I like to read, travel, crochet, bike, and play with our black pug Molly.
