The Bad, the ugly, and the good

Yesterday started out bad! By accident, one of my Nativity sets got broken. Or rather, baby Jesus got broken. He fell into the disposal. While it was on. Yes, I probably should not have that set displayed on the window sill above the sink. But I did. And baby Jesus did fall in while the disposal was on. It was bad.

Then it got ugly. I got upset. I posted on FB that I was upset. I told what happened without naming names. But it hurt my daughter’s feelings. I did not mean to, but I embarrassed her. She’s the one who broke baby Jesus. I didn’t say that in the post, but it hurt her none the less. I did not intend to be ugly, but I was. I am sorry for that.

Then it got good. Friends suggested places I could get him repaired. One friend even searched the web and found a replacement for me! It is purchased and shipped!

Then my day got even better! My big brother is circumnavigating the world in a 44 foot sailboat. Mostly alone. (I’ll write about “Uncle Bob” later.) But the point is, he is halfway around the world. And I miss him. I haven’t seen him in 15 months and I love that guy!

Well, yesterday I got a call. He is in Denver!!! I am traveling a bunch this fall with my husband as he travels for business. We’ve been to New York twice, San Diego to Seattle and many other places, driving everywhere.

Guess what! We are in Denver this week! So I got to have dinner with my big brother.

A day that went from bad to ugly to good to fantastic!!
