My Thoughts This Afternoon

My thoughts after attending another funeral for a young man in our community:

Wiped out
Completely
I have no more tears
No more emotion
Nothing left
I’m numb
Exhausted

Death of another young person
A great young man died too soon
Another funeral
Another hurting family

I don’t even hate this anymore
It is
It just is
Part of the world in which we live
Fallen
Broken world
Death and dying are part of our lives
Sadness
Sorrow

But God…

Kind
Compassionate
Loving
Merciful
Joyful
Gracious
Faithful
Good
Patient
Just
Worthy
Holy

All knowing
All seeing
All being
All loving
Ever present help

My refuge
My Redeemer
My Savior
My Friend

It’s time for a nap.

I write about my life, my journey, my family, and my faith. I am wife to one, mom to seven with one in heaven, and grandmother to many. I am also full-time caregiver to my stepmom E who suffers from dementia due to Alzheimer’s. In my spare time I like to read, travel, crochet, bike, and play with our black pug Molly.
