Time To Travel

“February Favorites” is in the bag, so it’s time to write some new blog articles. But what shall I write about?

I told Ron that I think we should hit the road. Don’t you agree?

Traveling always gives me fun things to write about. We’ve been home more than three months and I’ve run out of blog topics. We arrived home the Sunday before Thanksgiving and have only taken a couple of quick trips since then, like a day trip to Oklahoma and back, and my overnight trip to Hot Springs in December.

So for the sake of my precious readers, we should hit the road, right? Then I would have something to write about. It’s just logical!

Plus, there are new You Are Here Mugs to be obtained!

Ron purchased a YAH mug in Oklahoma when he went to Norman take one of our sons to dinner a few weekends ago. He was excited to find that our home state finally has its own mug! And we learned that there are a few other newly issued mugs we don’t have including:

  • New Jersey
  • Michigan
  • Maryland
  • Oregon
  • Illinois
  • Alabama

On our next trip, we should be able to get four of those six. Can you guess where we are headed and which ones we won’t get on this next two week trip? I’ll give you a hint: we aren’t going west.

We only get mugs from places where we actually go into a Starbucks and buy coffee or something. No ordering off of eBay for us!

Here is a picture of the Oklahoma mug. Below it is a list of all our YAH mugs.

If you live in a city or state that has a YAH mug we don’t have, will you please comment and tell me about your city or state mug? It’s sometimes hard to learn what new mugs have been issued, and I’d appreciate your help.

It’s time to get packing! Ron says we can leave next Thursday!

  • Just found your page! I love these mugs; you’ve clearly put in hard work to get all of these! Was the answer to your trip: Florida for the four Disney Parks mugs they have?? (1) Animal Kingdom, (2) Hollywood Studios, (3) Magic Kingdom, (4) Epcot? 🙂

    • Yes! We traveled for business and playing at Disney didn’t fit the schedule.

Normally we only got mugs from places we went, and actually entered the Starbucks. Since then my son and friend went to Disney so we have two mugs. Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom.

We have a friend who’s an internationally recognized expert in patent law. She has sent us Belgium, Singapore, and Brussels from her travels.

    • It’s taken us just over two years to gather these! Ron has to travel for his job. And since our kids are all out of the house, I get to travel with him! It’s become a fun game. The hard part is finding room to display them all in my kitchen!
