Photo 101 Day 8: Nature World
Capture the natural world with your camera: document a moment outside, big or small. From a panorama snapped during your morning hike to a close-up of a leaf in your yard, we invite you to document this wondrous world around us.
Ron is demo’ing in a parking lot of a large commercial office complex. Not much nature here!
I went for a walk between buildings determined to find a good shot, but everywhere I looked I saw concrete, highway, or trash. The flower beds haven’t been planted for spring yet, and most of the bushes are still dormant. I just couldn’t find anything to photograph.
I gave up and changed my train of thought.
As I walked with my camera turned off, I began thinking of my bible study. I am studying Joshua. He took over from Moses to lead Israel across the Jordan into the Promised Land. And boy did he have a job ahead of him!
In the first chapter of the book of Joshua, God told him to be “strong and courageous” more than once. God knew all that Joshua was facing. Joshua would need to stand firm in doing what was right. He was to be a leader and not follow the crowd.
I was thinking about what this meant in my life when I turned a corner and found a large bed of ivy. Most of it crawled along the ground like ground-cover usually does. But there was this one stem…standing tall above the rest. And I knew I had found my photo.
And so my friends, be strong and courageous in whatever God had called you to do today.

Our ladies group at church is doing the Precept study. If you’ve never done a Precept study, I recommend trying them. I love them! except when God uses one to hit me between the eyes and requires me to apply what He is teaches me. 😉

Is that Kay Arthur? I’ve not done one but I’ve done several Beth Moore studies and read several of her books, the most recent being So Long Insecurity! Taught a group of ladies through it! Glad you’re meeting and studying with a group a women Kathleen. God will bless you all abundantly!

Yes. Kay Arthur. Her son David is now the head of the ministry and many others contribute to writing the studies. I’ve done about thirty of them in the past five years.
I participated in studies with my church, but also do them on my own. I take a study with he on the road to do in hotels.
I’ve been privileged to attend their on-site study programs for Luke Parts One and Two plus Acts Parts One and Two. My husband is kind enough to support my “addiction” and gracious agreed to let me do two this year. We will do a semester’s worth of classes (ten weeks) in ten days. Studying the book of James in May. Then Galatians in July at the Precept campus in Chattanooga.
You can learn about it on their website http://www.precept.org.
