Obligatory Mug Post
On our recent trip, we acquired three new You Are Here mugs: New Jersey, Maryland, and Alabama.
We missed Illinois, but hope to get that one plus Michigan on our trip in April.
Some folks collect mugs by trading them and buying them off eBay. That’s fun for them them, but not for us. We only get mugs from places where we actually go into a Starbucks and purchase something. It’s become a game for our travels. A fun, silly game.
We’ve collected these mugs during our trips the past two years across forty-six states and into Canada. We now have fifty-five You Are Here mugs.
They are not displayed in their boxes. We use them. We let guests use them. They might get broken, but that’s okay.
They are stacked on the counter next to the coffee pot. I’m running out of room on my counter for them! We will have to store some in the cabinet above the coffee pot soon, but they will still be used.
They are the perfect size for a cup of soup or a dip of ice cream as well.
So even if you don’t drink coffee – I don’t – stop by sometime. Grab the mug from your favorite city or state and fill it with something good. We can sit and chat for a while.

I am so envious now! I have been collecting mugs for almost 15 years now. I have over 180 mugs (some broke when I moved to the US). I see those mugs every time I go to Starbucks and I haven’t bought any because I if do, I’ll have to buy all of them. It’s a beautiful collection.

We have a collection of handmade pottery mugs as well. I personally love handmade pottery!

That’s so cool!

Missing Norway. But I think it’s cool. I only collect funny cups and snow globes 😂

How cool is that? I like it better than a T-shirt (even though I don’t drink coffee). I didn’t know these mugs existed.

They have mugs for many large cities and most states. They are coming out with new states every few months.
I just found out they also have come out with mini mugs and Christmas ornament mugs. We are not going to collect those! Not enough room in the house!

Totally understand, I’ve been collecting Christmas ornaments since 1977, not just one for each year…let’s just say the collection is out of hand, but great memories.

We do the same with magnets. Our refrigerator looks like an atlas! Lol.
