Healing does not mean going back to the way things were before, but rather allowing what is now to move us closer to God.

This quote was posted by a friend.

I’m not sure who said it first. Many have taken it as their own. Today, I am taking it as mine.

Today, I choose to accept that my life was changed by The Accident. Today, I choose to let what has happened cause me to look to Christ for healing. Today, I will allow what is now move me closer to God, Our Heavenly Father.

Will you allow the trials in your live move you closer to God?

Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.

James 1:2-4 | NIV

  1. Miss Kathleen ~~ I am glad you have taken this as a quote to live by.

I know you already know I am sorry for your loss.
I am glad you had your faith to fall on, hold on to and now it is something that helps get you through.

I know, for me, it is, in part, the fact that I knew I was needing to continue on (I had a life to live, other children to continue to raise) and this loss was part of my life experience, not expected – true, not meant to be a punishment up on me nor a punishment for my son who died and it is my faith that #1- I am not the only one to have lost a son – my faith tells me the good Lord did too – and… I knew, due to my belief system, that I would be used as a tool to show others the way. Just like you are.
