Stress Zits

After spending last weekend with a newly bereaved family and facing another funeral today…I woke up this morning to ugly stress zits.

To add a bit of levity, I made a pretty meme.

Yes, for those early in this grief journey, some of us have lost our minds. We laugh at strange things. But we laugh. We have moments of happiness, silliness, even joy!

It may not be today. Or tomorrow. But if we seek God, study and apply His Word, pray, and do the next right thing…we can find joy and hope again.

The next right thing for me today is to put on concealer and a bit more makeup than usual to cover up my stress zits and head to yet another funeral to comfort a friend who lost his mom this weekend.

We who have been comforted can and must comfort others in any affliction.

“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God. For as we share abundantly in Christ’s sufferings, so through Christ we share abundantly in comfort too.”
