Cicada? It’s Just a Shell

A friend who grew up in the north posted this picture and asked what this horrible creature is and how could she kill it!

Many answered that it is a cicada. Or its exoskeleton. They shed like snakes.

I commented, “You don’t need to kill it. It’s already dead.”

Another gal commented, “Well, not dead. But not there.”

Just like our loved ones who have died.

There bodies, their shells, are buried. But they are not there. Their shells are empty. Our loved ones who were followers of Jesus are at home with the Lord. In the presence of Christ with all believers who have gone before us.

We can join them some day if we, too, follow Christ.
Will you believe? Will you trust Christ today?

Christianity, healing, healing in grief, Scripture, support for parents who lost a child
