Self-care
This is my pug Lyla.
Today is Sunday. A great day for self-care.
Lyla is very inquisitive. She wants to know what you are doing to take care of your spirit, soul, mind, and body today?
She’s napping. And eating. And napping. Then she’ll eat again. She will go outside and play with a ball. She’ll probably poop some place. Maybe in the house. I can’t seem to train her on that one, but we keep trying. 🙄
Lyla is good at taking care of herself. I’m getting better at it.
I’m taking care of myself today. I’m taking care of my spirit, soul, mind, and body.
Yesterday I lifted weights with my son I didn’t lift heavy, but I worked hard and it felt great.
This morning, I went to the 8:15 worship service then our small group with my husband. We are studying the life of David. “Life: It’s complicated” is our pastor’s current series.
I’m going to lunch with my husband, middle son, and our daughter who lives in town.
Then I’m taking a nap. I can nap because Adam finished mowing our property for me. I love having him close enough to come home some weekends. (He was living in Michigan 18-20 hours away for five years.) He loved it, too. He likes our property and spending time with us.
This evening we are having families of those in our men’s and women’s Bible studies over for a cookout.
Self-care, also called soul care, is important as we recover from tragedy or grief. And as we walk through life. Life is hard sometimes. We need to take care our selves, of our spirits, souls, minds, and bodies to be healthy enough to care for others.
What are you doing today? What are you doing to take care of yourself?
Christianity, family, fellowship, self care, soul care

An entire afternoon of whatever…maybe a nap. Was in church this morning helping with children’s church. God is good.
