Saying Grace

“Many people use the word grace to describe the beautiful appreciation we express to God at mealtime. How often have we said to our families around the dinner table, “Let’s say grace”? Yet how often have we failed to consider what saying grace means? Such a prayer should always be an acknowledgment that it is only by the grace of God that we are living, breathing, and enjoying every meal, all benefits coming from a loving and gracious God. Too often we fail to acknowledge God’s grace even while going through the religious motions we have been taught to engage in each day.
