I received a free copy of Before I Saw You from the publisher in exchange for my honest review.
Honestly…I loved this book!
It arrived last week, a week full of struggles for me. I won’t go into detail, but this book spoke volumes to me. The way Sudie loves God and trusts His Word to be completely true without question. The way she is frequently encouraging Jaycee that God knows what He’s doing. The sweet words of their pastor on Mother’s Day. The kindness of those around Jaycee as she faces trials resulting from her mother’s addiction, poverty, and her own unplanned pregnancy. All of it spoke to my heart as I saw the body of Christ loving one another.
I’m not usually a big fan of Christian fiction. Often it’s cheesy, preaching, and predictable. This book was none of these. It is well written and engaging. I made myself stretch it out over four days because I didn’t want it end.
I look forward to reading the author’s other novels.
