My parents weren’t perfect. Far from it. They made many mistakes. They did the best they could with the tools they had. I chose to forgive their failings, and my life is better because I chose forgiveness and grace rather than resentment and bitterness.
I pray my children will do the same for me and that their lives are better for it.
I write about my life, my journey, my family, and my faith.
I am wife to one, mom to seven with one in heaven, and grandmother to many. I am also full-time caregiver to my stepmom E who suffers from dementia due to Alzheimer’s.
In my spare time I like to read, travel, crochet, bike, and play with our black pug Molly.
A pastor friend of mine likes to say, “We all have feet of clay.” I think he means for me to make my default setting be forgiveness when dealing with other imperfect humans. I’ve tried to do that and it’s been a big help—especially when I need forgiveness from others myself.

Sounds like a wise default setting.
