Discipleship

“In the working creed of the average Christian salvation is held to be immediate and automatic, while discipleship is thought to be something optional that the Christian may delay indefinitely or never accept at all…The absence of a concept of discipleship from present-day Christianity leaves a vacuum that we instinctively try to fill with one or another substitute.”

~A.W. Tozer, Marks of Discipleship

Page 10. I only got to page ten and this book stopped me in my tracks!

(I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review as part of the Moody Press Blogger Review Program.)

According to the MPBRP I have until the end of August to read and review this book. I may read through it by then, but I will definitely not be finished with this book. Or maybe I should say the book will not be finished with me.

Tozer doesn’t clown around. He gets to the heart of the matter every time. And reading his writings with a willing and open spirit will change us.

I look forward to reading pages 11-151.
