If you stuck with me this long you should be very proud! And your home should be a bit cleaner and less cluttered than it was a month ago.
I have cleaned out our attic, kitchen, and junk drawers. Party decorations and favors, old pots and pans, and various knickknacks we no longer love were given away to folks who will use them. Car seats were given to two families who needed them.
My office filing cabinet, storage cabinet, and shelves have been organized. I shredded old documents and files.

Do you have 27 items you no longer need or want? What 27 things will you donate, sell, or throw away today?
Last week I slowly went through my craft supplies. I found this set of metallic pencils and a set of watercolor crayons. Both are from Stampin Up and are good quality yet I never use them. I know a sweet ten year old who loves to draw. I gave both sets to her. Actually, I have them to her mom who's saving them until her daughter's birthday.
I'm counting them as Day 27 for a couple of reasons: Read more [...]
Do you have craft supplies you don't use? Could you purge at least 25 items today? I did!
I used to make fun note pad sets with my stamps and accessories such as ribbon and buttons. I acquired these pads a few years ago intending to make gift sets. I know it's probably not going to happen if it hasn't happened by now. So I gave away a few dozen pads. The mom I gave them to will be using them this week! And isn't that part of the purpose of this challenge? I simplified my life and helped someone Read more [...]
Cleaning out the craft cabinet continues.
When we lived in Georgia I learned to create greeting cards and scrapbook pages using rubber stamps. I loved this hobby! I even became a Stampin Up! demonstrator. I built a huge collection of stamping supplies.
Roller wheels are a fun way to make borders on cards and other paper crafts. I had a couple dozen roller wheels plus about 30 different colored ink cartridges and refills.
Though rolling is fun, I haven't used these in at least eight years. So out Read more [...]
Today we are purging 23 items from our kitchens, closets, or cabinets. How are you doing? Are you liking the results of spending time simplifying and organizing your home?
I have begun work on my craft cabinets. First thing I did was through away piles of scrap paper. I always think, "I should save that. It's big enough to use for something." But when I go to make more crafts I can't find the exact color I need in the scraps. My stacks of scraps seemed to grow.
I decided to throw them away!
Nope. Read more [...]
Today I sorted through my costume jewelry: bracelets, pins, necklaces, and earrings. Actually, I finished sorting through my costume jewelry.
I'm taking the jewelry I don't keep to a local consignment store.
I started sorting through the beads and baubles on day 13. I found a few broken earrings and a bracelet which I threw away. A few items were easy to put in the purge pile. And I have some pieces I wear often or with special outfits; these I'm definitely keeping.
But the rest of my jewelry, Read more [...]
About four years ago, a friend was closing her Discovery Toys business. Her family was moving oversees and she couldn't take her inventory with her. I bought a couple of tubs of toys for practically nothing.
The tubs contained duplicates and triplicates of mostly new toys. I pulled out toys I knew my grandchildren would love and gave a few away to friends with foster babies.
The rest of the toys went into the back of a closet.
As part of my purge, I decided it is time to give away the rest of Read more [...]
