We are traveling. Again. By the time we get home Saturday we will have been away from home 37 days. We have driven through 18 states and two Canadian provinces this trip. I've lost track of how many hotels we've stayed in.
Over the past year, as I've traveled with my love, I have been on many kinds of roads. I'm glad for our adventures.
Roads I am grateful for:

It's been a long time since we traveled together. May was our last business trip. We did go to Chattanooga together in July for a Bible Study, its was great, but not like our business travel!
We are now on a five-week trip! Through Michigan, into Canada, Maine, New Hampshire, DC area, upstate New York, then Pennsylvania. At least that's the plan. But if you've read my trip logs before, you know nothing goes exactly as planned! This trip is no different!
I left about 7:00 pm Friday, September 9 Read more [...]
I got home from a ten-day trip last night. Thought I'd be home until mid-September. But I told God I would "Be available" two years ago. So when someone very dear to me calls and says, "I need to visit a sick friend five hours away, will you pick me up Thursday and take me?" I said, "YES!"
So I'll be in out of town Thursday until Sunday. Guess I need to get some laundry done tomorrow.
Are you available? Are you open to do whatever God calls you to do?

Day 16 Sixteen and Licensed to Drive!
June 16, 1903 The Ford Motor Company was incorporated.
Sixteen is the age at which you can get a driver’s license in most states in the US. Was your first car a Ford? Tell us about getting your license or you first car.
Alternative: Write about a road trip.
A huge part of why I did this challenge was to write about something other than grief! Yet here I am, writing about grief...again! Yuck!
To those new to my page, I'm sorry. This is another serious grief Read more [...]
Day 7 Seven Days Off
June 7, 1982. Priscilla Presley opened Graceland to the public.
Many Elvis fans have taken vacations to Memphis just so they can tour Graceland.
Where would you like to visit on your next vacation? What would you do with seven days off? What is your idea of a perfect week-long vacation?
This is an easy one for me!
I'd go to Chattanooga, Tennessee. In fact, I was there for two weeks in May to study James and to see my kids & grandkids! I'm going back there for a Read more [...]
No, I am not going to write a daily diary of what happened each of the past thirteen days! (Did I hear a collective sigh of relief?) That doesn't mean this won't be a long post. 😜
In my last Trip Log, I wrote that I was in Chattanooga for a couple of weeks. I'll tell you more about that in a moment. But first...
Let me back up to our week in Ashburn, VA.
My dear husband had three days of difficult and important meetings. He is on the board and executive committee of an industry trade association. Read more [...]
Yes, I'm late with this. I'll explain why later.
Friday, April 29 through Sunday, May 1.
We arrived in Staten Island Friday night in time for dinner and then drove to the Ferry Terminal to check out parking options.
My sweet friend, Camille, arrived about midnight.
We got up Saturday morning and had a nice breakfast before heading to Manhattan. It was set to be a beautiful day! High in the upper sixties and mostly sunny.
We went to the Expo for the Five Boros Bike Tour to pick up our rider packets. Read more [...]
Monday, April 25. Kalamazoo 11:30 am
I was right. Surprises already! On the first day of the new week.
Ron called to confirm his appointments first thing this morning. The rep had forgotten to tell him the days were switched: today he'll be in Grand Rapids, then in Kalamazoo tomorrow. We still have to back in Grand Rapids Wednesday and Thursday. So we asked this hotel for another night here and changed the hotel in Grand Rapids from Monday through Thursday to Tuesday through Thursday. Confused? Read more [...]
No, I don't alway pack light.
This is my stack of luggage for our current trip: large suitcase, book bag full of study materials for my Spring Study Program, hanging bag with more formal clothes, large total with most of my cycling gear (lots of layers for warm through very cold weather) , small tote with my other cycling gear (shoes, gloves, & helmet), and a box of my books to give away on the trip. This trip will be more than a month long! I need lots of stuff.
By popular demand, here Read more [...]
We are going on the road again.
Michigan, New York, Arlington, VA, and Chattanooga are our destinations on this trip. Chattanooga is fun and my Bible Study Program, the rest is business. Well, mostly business. We always take time for rest and fun along the way.
We leave later this week. I'll post about our adventures in Trip Logs. Hopefully, they will be fun and profitable adventures.
We had a scary adventure last Thursday!
We'd planned to head out Thursday afternoon. We planned Read more [...]
