We are going on the road again.
Michigan, New York, Arlington, VA, and Chattanooga are our destinations on this trip. Chattanooga is fun and my Bible Study Program, the rest is business. Well, mostly business. We always take time for rest and fun along the way.
We leave later this week. I'll post about our adventures in Trip Logs. Hopefully, they will be fun and profitable adventures.
We had a scary adventure last Thursday!
We'd planned to head out Thursday afternoon. We planned Read more [...]

An issue that I have dealt with for years is feeling unloved and unlovable.
My husband is a great man who shows me love in many ways. It took a few years of marriage before I truly believed that he could love me. I do not doubt his love for me now. I know he loves me.
But the rest of the world...
I still have days when I do not feel loved by anyone else. On those days, I have to cling to the truth found in God's Word that He loves me. And that must be enough.
I have many folks who love me. The Read more [...]
Some have said I write to teach or preach to others. Nope. I needed this reminder today.
I have some things I'm hurt and angry about today, but I am working to let them be put away. I am working to forgive. Hard to do when I'm hurting. Harder to do when those who hurt me don't seem to know or care. But I didn't know or care when in Christ God forgave me. He did it anyway. So shall I.
And I will work to be kind to others even when they have not been kind to me, with God's help.

For ten days in May, I will be participating in the Spring Study Program at Precept Ministries in Chattanooga. We will be studying the book of James. This will be an intense study: ten weeks worth of classes in ten days. To prepare, I am doing lots of homework.
Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking Read more [...]

Today I am sharing a post about hope. It is not mine. But it could be my story...or yours. Under Reconstruction is an amazing and encouraging blog. You might want to follow it. I do.
Karen writes honestly about her battle with depression in a way that gives hope to all of us who have struggled with it. And hope is the subject of an article she published earlier this week. You should read it. All of it.
Here is just a taste of what she says:
Hope, as it turns out, is as misunderstood as love. Like Read more [...]
My dad loved Christmas! He loved shopping and decorating, but mostly he loved giving gifts.
Each year he would put up a twelve-foot tall tree in the living room. It was covered with tinsel, twinkle lights, and ornaments. The presents would be spread out all under and around the tree.
Dad liked to have us open one gift at a time so everyone could see what each person received. He handed out gifts in a planned order. Sometimes there were matching gifts the four of us kids were to open at the same Read more [...]
I've been having to work on a few things these past few months, areas in my life that need improving. I am not only trying to get healthier physically, but I am also trying to improve my spiritual and emotional health. I am cultivating spiritual fruit.
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law. Galatians 5:22-23
I am working to grow self-control in more than a Read more [...]
